It has become an iconic rifle that has been used in Hollywood movies to gain popularity.

BEST STEYR AUG TRIGGER

20/20 Precision Trigger Sear Mod is the best upgrade you can do to your Steyr AUG right away.

This product is made by Rat Worx and greatly improves the standard factory trigger.

It is easily installed and you will not need any special tools for this upgrade.

Improving the trigger will greatly increase your accuracy while shooting, especially while engaging targets are greater distances.

CORVUS DEFENSIO M-LOK SET (MONOLITHIC RAIL & HANDGUARD)

One of the best ways to modernize your Steyr AUG is to add a new top rail and an M-LOK handguard.

Corvus Defensio is one of the few companies that do this well.

They make a combo kit that includes both accessories that you will need.

A great thing about the top rail is that it gives you more rail space. This is one of the big downsides about the factory setup Steyr AUG gives you standard.

This will allow you to run a better optic and add iron sights with an optic of a 45 degree offset.

Unfortunately, you will have to order this directly from Corvus Defensio and they are located in Germany. They still ship to the U.S. but you will pay a little extra for the shipping.

BEST STEYR AUG OPTICS

So there are three optic setups that I recommend for the Steyr AUG. An Elcan Specter, LPVO (low powered variable optic), and the EOTech with the G33 magnifier.

They all are similarly priced and all are exceptional choices when upgrading and adding accessories to your Steyr AUG.

Basically, it will depend on your own personal preference.

ELCAN SPECTER

One of the best optics for the Steyr AUG is the Elcan Specter. This is a prism-style optic that has a 1 – 4x magnification and the reticle is calibrated for the 5.56mm round.

The Elcan Specter is a proven weapon sight that has been used by many Special Operations units worldwide.

It is extremely robust and reliable and is a top-tier optic.

One downside is that it is on the heavier side but I find it works great on the Steyr AUG because of how light the rifle is.

On a bullpup rifle the weight is focused on the rear of the rifle and adding a heavier optic on the center keeps the rifle balanced.

This does not make the rifle front heavy like it does on a traditional rifle.

It comes in two different colors and I personally like the Flat Dark Earth color and it looks great on the Scar 17.

This optic also comes with the mount integrated.

VORTEX RAZOR HD GEN II

The best LPVO for the Steyr AUG is the Vortex Razor HD Gen II. LPVOs are here to stay and there has been a huge shift towards these for battle rifle setups.

Vortex makes some great scopes and the Razor HD Gen II is one of their flagship scopes.

This optic is quick and has the ability to reach out further with the 6x.

Vortex has a few different reticles to choose from and you can pick which one is right for you. If you are looking for a very clear scope, then this is the way to go.

Geissele Super Precision Mount is what I recommend for mounting it on your Steyr AUG.

GEISSELE SUPER PRECISION MOUNT

If you decide on using the Vortex LPVO, the best mount you can get for it is the Geissele Super Precision Mount.

Many people will often overlook this when choosing a scope and usually just go with something cheap when it comes to mounts. If you are buying a premium optic, then mount it on a premium set of rings.

If you want the vest possible mount then go with the Geissele. I promise you once your scope is mounted upon your Steyr AUG, it will never shift its zero.

This is hands down my personal favorite scope mount.

OFFSET TRIJICON RMR

Having an LPVO scope mounted as your primary optic could leave you to desire an offset red dot for quick transitions to close-range engagements.

Instead of adding offset iron sights, for the ultimate setup, go with a micro red dot.

The Trijicon RMR is the best optic for this setup.

Having a setup up like this is very expensive so most people won’t do it, but it is the ultimate setup for your Steyr AUG.

Trijicon also makes a 45 Degree Offset Mount that is low profile and works great for the RMR.

EOTECH EXPS-3 & MAGNIFIER

If you want a holographic style optic or a red dot, your best choice for the Steyr AUG is the EOTech EXPS3 & Magnifier Combo. These had been used and tested countless times and are tried and true.

I have a hard time seeing some red dots with my eyes getting worse and the EOTechs have always stayed crystal clear for me.

The mount is integrated for the EXPS3 so you will save a little money without having to buy one separately.

And honestly, if you do not own an EOTech already, it’s time you pick one up. Reliable, robust, and accurate are the main selling points here.

The magnifier is no exception either.

Being able to quickly flip the magnifier in from of the optic is a force multiplier and very useful.

Best Steyr AUG Weapon Light

I am a strong believer in have a good weapon light on every firearm and the Steyr AUG is no exception.

With limited rail space, I recommend the Surefire M300 Mini Scout Light.

This light is very similar to the M600 Scout but it is more compact which makes it perfect for the Steyr AUG.

To mount the weapon light I like the Arisaka Defense Inline Scout M-LOK Mount.

Extremely low profile and simple are why it works great on the Steyr AUG.

The mount has 3 different heights you can mount the weapon light to and is the best setup for this light on the rifle.

Surefire Scout Light Pressure Switch

Having a pressure switch to activate your weapon light is optional but is what is the best setup.

The Surefire Scout Light Pressure Switch is compatible with the M300 weapon light and comes with a new tail cap.

The tail cap has a button for constant on and you can still use this ability.

Momentatty one is what the pressure switch does and this option is more useful and practical in a real-world situation.

Best Pressure Switch Mount

The best way to mount your pressure switch to your M-LOK rail is with the Cloud Defensive LCS Mount.

It is the most compact and streamlined way to manage the cable and securely mount the switch.

There are channels under the mount to route the cable and the switch is perfectly secure in the mount.

Are there any caps available to cover my Steyr AUG scope adjustment knobs? I have dialed-in my Steyr AUG scope, but I do not have any covers to protect the adjustment knobs from debris and accidentally losing their adjustment.
