Best Ruger PC Charger Upgrades & Accessories
Looking for the best Ruger PC Charger upgrades and accessories? This article will review all the parts you should add to make it the best setup for your situation.
One of the coolest firearms on the market is the Ruger PC Charger. This is a smaller variant of the PC Carbine, making it an excellent pistol defense weapon or PDW.
The great thing about a PDW like the Ruger PC Charger is that it is more effective than just a pistol but is smaller and more packable than a rifle. These make great truck guns or bag guns.
This post will cover the best Ruger PC Charger upgrades and accessories on the market.
Why Upgrade the Ruger PC Charger?
Sometimes you will want to have something more than a pistol for certain situations. Whether it’s civil unrest, natural disaster, or the apocalypse, you should have your primary fighting rifle or a general-purpose rifle.
Most people will have their rifles at home and not on them daily. But let’s say you’re not a home when something kicks off.
You should always have your sidearm on you, but you may want a lighter, more firepower.
This is where a PDW comes in handy. These styles of firearms are great for keeping in a backpack or your vehicle. They offer more firepower than a pistol but still are very compact compared to a battle rifle.
The Ruger PC Charger is a great option for a PDW because of its low-profile design. They are also very affordable compared to other PDW guns in their class.
If you do not already own a Ruger PC Charger, they are readily available at most gun stores and online retailers.

Best Ruger PC Charger Upgrades
All of the parts and items listed below are the best components for this platform. Depending on your local laws, you may be unable to add everything listed in this post to your PC Charger.
Ideally, you will want to add a suppressor and a stock converting this into a short-barrel rifle.
Unfortunately, not everyone can do this, but you can get a muzzle brake and a pistol stabilizing brace instead.
Please make sure to know and understand all of your local laws before swapping out parts.
Without further ado, these are the best Ruger PC Charger upgrades and accessories.
Best Ruger PC Charger Optic
First on the list of upgrades is an optic. This is what I recommend doing first, and for a lot of people will be the most expensive part of the firearm.
For a PDW like the Ruger PC Charger, a good 1x red dot is what I recommend. When choosing a good red dot, there are a ton of options.
I always stick to the tried and true, which is why an EOTech Holographic Sight is the best choice. You can never go wrong with an EOTech for a 1x red dot.
EOTech EXPS3
The EOTech is truly one of the best 1x weapon sights on the market. Technically it is not a red dot but a holographic sight, but they work exactly the same.
The EOTech EXPS3 is the shortest, lightest holographic weapon sight on the market today. It allows for an elevated level of precision in short to medium-range tactical environments.
The reticle is a circular ring with a dot in the center. This makes picking up targets very quick and also allows you to transition between targets easily and fast.
The reticle is also great for anyone with astigmatism who has trouble seeing a crisp red dot through other red dot optics.
So if you have bad or aging eyes, that is another reason to get the EOTech.
These have adjustable side buttons with a single, quick-release throw lever to easily attach or remove the sight. The EOTech EXPS 3 Waterproof Holographic Red Dot requires 2 3/4 inches of rail space at most, thanks to a shortened base.
The waterproof and fog proof design will withstand tough environments and perform in any tactical environment, with an average battery life of 500 to 600 hours.
Suppose you want fast target acquisition, extreme durability and reliability, and night vision compatibility. This is the best 1x weapon sight for that purpose and works great on the Ruger PC Charger.
This weapon sight also integrates the mount into the optic itself, removing the need to buy a mount separately.

Best Ruger PC Charger Stock / Brace
The next part you will need is either a stock or a brace. I will assume most people will go with a pistol stabilizing brace just because it is easier, cheaper, and less of a headache.
As of now, braces are still allowed, but this may change in the near future, so again, please make sure you know the current laws.
I will recommend the best brace for the Ruger PC Charger first, but I will recommend the best stock if you are a real Chad and SBR your pistol.
SB Tactical FS1913 Brace
The SB Tactical FS1913 Brace provides a lightweight and versatile stabilizing brace. It can fold to the side and is compatible with the Ruger PC Charger.
This clean and minimalist setup will increase the weapon’s stability while firing. The side folding feature allows this to be easily stowed in a backpack or a vehicle without taking up much space.
I really like the feel and the aesthetics of the brace as well.
SB Tactical makes some of the best pistol braces on the market, and they are known for being durable.

A3 Tactical Modular Folding Stock
The A3 Tactical Modular Folding Stock is one of the best side folding stocks for the Ruger PC Charger.
It keeps the gun small and compact, and the folding mechanism is smooth and has perfect resistance.
They have lots of different configurations available for this stock as well. They make four different butt pads with different lengths of pull, which can be a straight extension arm or an offset extension arm.
So this can be fine-tuned to your personal preference.
I personally like the 8.625″ straight extension arm with the Magpul V1 rubber butt pad.

Best Ruger PC Charger Suppressor
Making this gun hearing safe and putting a suppressor on it is want you to want to do ideally. Some people will not be able to do this, depending on what state they live in and the local laws.
Hopefully, one day, suppressors will no longer be regulated items, and anyone can buy them off the counter at a gun store. But until then, many people will choose to wait or not even bother with the hassle of getting a suppressor.
If you can and have the means to get a suppressor, then the Ruger PC Charger is a great platform to accept one. I know I have said this many times already, but please make sure you know and follow all of your local firearms laws.
Yankee Hill Machine Company R9 Suppressor
The Yankee Hill Machine Company R9 Suppressor provides versatility at a budget-friendly price. It features a 9mm caliber made from 17-4 Ph SS, weighing only 10.7 ounces, and can handle high volumes of fire without fail.
The primary goal was a 9mm suppressor capable of handling high volumes of fire and the ability to run other calibers such as .300 BLK and .308 Win. It was primarily focused on suppressing 9mm (specifically sub-machine guns and SBRs).
The R9 can be used on a handgun in conjunction with the Nielsen Booster Assembly.
Specs:
- Suppression Level: 123 dB
- Diameter / Length: 1.562” / 5.2”
- Weight: 10.7 Oz
- Rating: 17hmr – 9mm / .308 Win

Best Ruger PC Charger Trigger
Now the trigger that comes stock from the factory on the Ruger PC charger is actually pretty good. But it can be made better.
Adding a flat-face trigger design will give you more control of the trigger and a better grip. Also, allowing you to have a consistent trigger pull.
Tandemkross Victory Trigger
The Tandemkross Victory Trigger is a nice little upgrade for your Ruger PC Charger. Its flat-face design offers a better grip texture on the trigger face.
This will give you a more consistent trigger pull and more trigger control, allowing you to make more accurate, repeatable shots.
The lightweight, skeletonized trigger design allows the shooter to pull straight back, making it easier to tell if you’re pulling too far to the left or right.
The trigger has very little pre-travel and is post-travel adjustable for a custom fit and function. The PCC trigger’s flat-faced design allows the user to place their finger lower on the trigger face, improving leverage and lowering the feel of the trigger pull.
They offer these in a black color or a red color.

Best Ruger PC Charger Handguard
Next up for upgrades is a new handguard. Adding an MLOK-style handguard will allow you to add a light and a laser and make the platform more streamlined and slim overall.
I personally like having MLOK-style handguards on all my rifles and PDWs.
Midwest Industries Ruger PC Combat Rail
The Midwest Industries Ruger PC Combat Rail is perfect for adding MLOK capability to the Ruger PC Charger.
The lightweight design with a slim profile is black and 4.875″ long. Installation is simple, and it comes with a small Picatinny rail section that can also be installed.
Specs:
Manufacturer: | Midwest Industries |

Best Ruger PC Charger Charging Handle
Upgrading the charging handle is cheap and easy, making the weapon’s operation easier.
The stock charging handle doesn’t have a lot of surface area to get a good grip on. A bigger charging handle makes charging the Ruger PC Charger easier, especially in wet conditions, with sweaty hands, or wearing gloves.
Samson Charger Handle
The Samson Charger Handle is a direct replacement for the stock charging handle. Installation is simple, and it increases the surface area.
Many people overlook this upgrade, but it’s inexpensive and makes operating the Ruger PC Charger easier.

Best Ruger PC Charger Weapon Light
Every serious defense firearm needs a good weapon light. You can’t shoot what you can not see.
With the limited rail space of the Ruger PC Charger, a small but still powerful weapon light is what I recommend, and one that mounts to MLOK rails.
SureFire M340C Mini Scout Light Pro
The SureFire M340C Pro is a perfect weapon light for small handguards and rails. It is extremely bright still with 500 lumens of output.
These lights are also very durable and reliable. What I really like about this model is how the mount is offset, allowing the light housing to be closer to the center bore of the gun. This prevents snagging issues.
It comes in two colors, black and FDE, and two mount options. MLOK or Picatinny. The tail cap button is durable and it can be used with the SureFire pressure switch if added.
The battery life is pretty good and will run for about 1 hour on a single CR123A battery.
Specs:
Manufacturer: | SureFire |
Light Output: | 500 lumens |
Bulb Type: | LED |
Battery Type: | CR123A |
Beam Color: | White |
Gun Model: | Universal |
Length: | 4.1 in |

Included Accessories: | Standard |

Attachment/Mount Type: | M-LOK, Picatinny |

- Virtually indestructible ultra-high-output LED generates 500 lumens of blinding light; produces tactical-level light for 1 hour on a single 123A lithium battery
- TIR lens shapes versatile beams with enough reach and surrounds light for close-to-longer-range operations
- Versatile Low-Profile Mount (LPM) allows the user to optimize the position of the light relative to the rail
- Activation via Z68 momentary/constant-on pushbutton switching with protective shroud
- O-ring seals keep out moisture; the Mini Scout Light Pro is IPX7 rated

SureFire Pressure Pad Switch
This next part is optional, but a pressure pad switch is the way to go if you want the ultimate setup.
The SureFire Pressure Pad Switch is a great upgrade to your weapon light and gives you more mounting options to activate the light.
Having momentary on and off is useful in tactical situations, and with this pressure pad switch, you still do not lose the constant on and off tail cap button. This is the best of both worlds.

Cloud Defensive Light Control System
If you get the pressure pad switch, you will need a way to secure it to the rail. I have seen some people use electrical tape, but I recommend a good switch mount for a better and cleaner setup.
The Cloud Defensive LCS is designed for the SureFire pressure switch and works great. This is my go-to mount for weapon light setups.
It mounts securely to any MLOK section of your handguard and even has channels under the mount to run the cable through for a neat and clean setup.

Best Ruger PC Charger Laser
Night vision is becoming increasingly popular among gun owners, and seeing in the dark is a huge advantage.
Many people will not need a laser, but if you own night vision goggles or plan on getting them soon, you will want an IR laser to be able to aim while using them.
If you purchased the EOTech ESPS3 for your Ruger PC Charger, then you can use the night vision setting on the optic to passively aim with night vision. However, you should also consider adding an IR laser to use active aiming.
A great thing about many of these tactical accessories is that they can be used on other firearms and can easily be moved around different guns.
Just a heads up, getting into night vision is very expensive.
Steiner DBAL-A3
My number one recommended IR laser is the Steiner DBAL-A3. This little device is feature packed and pretty awesome.
It has a visible green laser, and IR laser, and an IR illuminator all in one. With dual activation switches and high/low power modes, these offer reliable illumination at close quarters, midrange, and long distances.
These are durable, function properly, and can be submerged underwater.
The Steiner eOptics Advanced 3 Dual Activation Laser is a versatile way to boost your accuracy in low and no-light missions.
Specs:
Manufacturer: | Steiner eOptics |
Beam Color: | IR, Green |
Finish: | Matte |
Wavelength: | 532 – 835 nm |
Attachment/Mount Type: | QD HT Mount, Rail |
Battery Type: | CR123A |

Water Resistant Mark: | 5 m |

- Attach to any Picatinny rail using patented, self-adjusting Quick Release HT Mount
- Top choice for military units worldwide
- Submersible to 10m for 2 hours
Best Ruger PC Charger Sling
Finally, to complete any weapon setup, you need a good sling. Normally I recommend a good two-point sling for rifles, but because of how small and compact this weapon system is, a single-point sling works best.
Blue Force Gear Sling
The Blue Force Gear UDC Single Point Padded Sling is the best single-point sling.
The UDC Padded Single Point Bungee Sling is a dedicated single-point sling that is both fast and comfortable.
The UDC Sling has 2-inch inline padding, similar to the Padded Vickers Slings for extra comfort, ending in two bungee sections.
The bungee travels approximately 2 inches – enough to absorb shock from movement or transitions but short enough to reduce the risk of facial injuries or sagging weapons.
The overall length is adjustable, ambidextrous, and compatible with use over body armor.

Ammo & Magazines
The next thing you must stock up on is extra mags and ammo. One of the best things Ruger did with the PC Charger allows it to accept the Ruger SLR series of magazines and good old Glock mags.
Most gun owners have Glocks, and utilizing these in the Ruger PC Charger is awesome.
The standard Glock mags and even the extended Glock mags will work in this gun.
I’m a huge fan of the 33-Round Glock Mags, so I suggest using this for the Ruger PC Charger.

9mm Ammo used to be cheap, but it is more expensive than ever. As much as this sucks, we still need a lot stockpiled and even more to shoot and train with.

Final Considerations
All the above mentioned parts and items are great for improving this gun. These are not the only options, but if you want the absolute best PDW setup, then all of them will get you there.
If you haven’t considered setting up a PDW, I recommend considering it. Obviously, a rifle is a better weapon of choice for a gunfight, but having the capability of a PDW is better than just a pistol.
Again these are perfect for a bag gun in your vehicle or a dedicated truck gun. If anything, it will give you some peace of mind knowing you have more firepower than just a pistol nearby if things get spicy.
Best Ruger PC Charger Upgrades FAQ
Is the Ruger PC Charger accurate?
The Ruger PC Charger is a nifty little gun. It is accurate, reliable, and very compact. Plus it is very modular and versatile.
Can you put a scope on a Ruger PC Charger?
You can put a scope on a Ruger PC Charger, but adding a red dot on this platform makes more sense. If you want a magnification scope, an LPVO with a good 1x will work.
How many rounds can the Ruger PC Charger Hold?
The Ruger PC Charger comes with a standard 17-round 9mm magazine. This gun does accept aftermarket extended magazines and any Glock 9mm magazines. So it will work with Glock drum mags even.
